Začátkem letošního roku byl popsán nový druh halančíka. Na tom by nebylo nic až tak zajímavého. Během posledních deseti let bylo popsáno celkem 11 nových druhů z rodu Nothobranchius. Zajímavostí tohoto nově popsaného druhu je to, že byl popsán na počest známého brněnského akvaristy Jaroslava Kadlece.

Netradičně až na konci března (22.–30. 3.), avšak tradičně v prostorách kongresového centra ALDIS se letos uskutečnil už 13. ročník výstavy akvarijních ryb v Hradci Králové. Na návštěvníky čekalo 95 akvárií s celkovým objemem přes 9000 l a v nich více než 130 různých druhů a forem ryb, doplněných několika druhy a formami raků, krevet, obojživelníků a plazů.
