Výskyt
Západní Tichý oceán — Seychely a Maledivy na východ až po Marshallovy ostrovy a Phoenixovy ostrovy (Kiribati), na sever až po ostrovy Rjúkjú (Japonsko), na jih až po severní Austrálii. Obývá písčitá lagunová stanoviště v hloubkách 10 - 15 m.

Velikost
7,5 cm SL.
Pohlavní rozdíly
Samci mají prodloužený 3. trn první hřbetní ploutve, u samic je tento trn kratší.
