Výskyt
Blízký východ — Írán, povodí řeky Karkheh, tok řek Gamasiab, Kahman, Kashkan a Seymareh. Obývá rychle tekoucí části řek a přehradní nádrže. Obvykle dává přednost oblastem s bohatou vegetací a v létě jej lze pozorovat i v mělčích vodách.
