Jihovýchodní Asie — povodí horního toku Černé řeky (Song Da), povodí Rudé řeky (Čína). Obývá rychle tekoucí mělké řeky hluboké 0,5-1 m s dnem pokrytým oblázky, štěrkem a kameny.

Typová lokalita

Mola, 24°26'54.07'N, 100°49'58.77"E, a small tributary of Chuanhe, upper Lixian-Jiang River, a tributary of the Red River, Jingdong County, Yunnan Province, China.

Velikost

24,9 cm TL.

Potrava

Seškrabuje porosty na povrchu oblázků a štěrku, živí se kousky vodních rostlin a organickými zbytky.
